Notifications and Subscriptions
Subscribing to Notifications:
All users have the ability to subscribe to receive notifications for various events relating to items on a Virbeya board.
All items on a board (lanes, groups, tiles as well as the board itself) have a menu option that is labeled "Subscribe" and looks like a flag...
By clicking on this menu option the Notification Subscription panel will be opened for that item.
There are options to subscribe to different events related to statuses changing and comments being posted. You can subscribe to any status change or status changes to a specific color, for the specific item and/or the children of that item (eg all groups and tiles within a lane). You can also subscribe to comments being posted on an individual tile tile or any tile within a group, lane or board.
See how it's done in the video below:
Receiving Notifications:
Once you are subscribed there are two ways to receive/consume notifications. You can choose to receive notifications via email to let you know that an action you are subscribed to has occurred. The default setting is to have email notifications turned on. Whether or not you have email notifications turned on you will also receive notifications on your news feed. This can be found on the Notifications tab on the left hand menu of the board select screen. Here you can view all of your notifications in the form of a news feed.
Clicking on a news feed item will take you to that item on a board. Clicking the "X" on the corner of the news feed item will remove the item from the news feed (but keep your subscription to future events)
Managing Subscriptions:
You have the option of managing your subscriptions on the item itself (as shown in the video above), and you can also view and manage your subscriptions all at once using the settings panel.
The settings panel is found on the Notifications tab on the board select screen. Simply open the Notifications tab and click on the "Settings" link at the top of tab.
In the settings panel, subscriptions are organized by board. Any subscriptions that you have already set up will show up here. From here you can enable/disable all subscriptions at once or enable/disable individual subscriptions using the toggle switches. You can adjust your subscription settings by checking and unchecking the boxes next to each subscription type. You can also remove subscriptions completely by clicking on the "Unfollow This Item" link.
